A new year has brought new faces to the BTRL.  The lab welcomes the addition of several new members, including undergraduate students Devon Bowser, Grace Dion, and Lee Mai, as well as Ph. D. student Katy Jaeggli.  Katy’s project will focus on the design of a new “spine bioreactor” to simulate the daily stresses experienced by the spinal column and the intervertebral discs.  Her work will aid in the testing and development of tissue engineered intervertebral discs, which is the aim of an ongoing BTRL project.  The new undergraduates will also be contributing to current research projects.
